The Right Questions
A health detective's guide to your own case
Ten questions worth asking about your health before anyone hands you a label. Every case starts here — including the ones that finally get solved.
Where should I send it?
The ten questions
Each one comes with room to actually work it — your answers become the file you bring to any doctor, including me.
01
What made you start looking — and why now?
Not the symptom — the moment. Name it. It matters more than you'd think.
02
Where does your energy actually go?
Track one ordinary day. Running on fumes, the mid-afternoon cliff, wired-but-tired — which one is yours?
03
What happens at 3am?
Can't fall asleep, can't stay asleep, sleep plenty and wake tired — three different stories. Which is yours?
04
What's changed in the last two years that you've been explaining away?
Weight without habit changes. Aches and flare-ups that come and go. Mood or focus you can't account for.
05
If your cycle changed — what changed with it?
Sleep, mood, weight, heat, anxiety. And if this one doesn't apply to you, skip it — no penalty.
06
What did “your labs look fine” not explain?
Write down the symptom that's still there anyway. That's the case.
07
What have you already tried — and what did each attempt tell you?
Every diet that didn't fit is data, not failure.
08
If one thing got better next month, what would it be?
Energy. Answers. Getting ahead on purpose. Name the one — it decides where we start.
09
What season is your body in?
Not your age — your stage. Has anyone actually adjusted the plan for it?
10
What's one baby step you could take this week?
An extra vegetable. A couple more minutes of walking. Three minutes of just breathing. Small counts.
